Building Social Competence & Social Skills in Children & Teens – Begins Oct. 10, 11, & 12, 2017

Social competence is about more than just effective social skills. It also includes the ability to understand your reactions to others and our impact on others, within a variety of environments. This group is designed to improve your child’s ability to interact with others successfully, both in and out of the home. Topics include: Basic and advanced communication skill development, understanding social situations, comprehending others’ emotions, listening skills, interacting with authority figures, impulse control, developing self-esteem, relating to peers, and conflict resolution (including responding to bullying). Activities are both educational and interactive. The program also includes a resource manual for parents/caregivers on improving family interactions and reinforcing social competence skills! Children and adolescents are invited to attend, and groups will be divided based upon age and needs.   • NIXA: Adolescents: “The Social Ninja”
  • Begins:                 Tuesday, October 10,  2017 @ 6:00pm to 7:00pm; Eight Weekly Meetings – 60-minutes each
  • Location:             MAPS Nixa Office
  • Facilitator:          Brandan Gremminger, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

 

  • MONETT: Adolescents: “The Social Ninja”
  • Begins:                 Thursday, October 12,  2017 @ 4:30pm to 6:00pm; Six Weekly Meetings – 90-minutes each
